DACA – Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals
Información de Acción Diferida
Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals allows students, who entered the country before the age of 16 and meet other requirements, to apply for deferred action from USCIS. Applicants must gather evidence showing continuous residence in the USA, and evidence of high school or GED graduation or current attendance. Individuals who are approved for Deferred Action will not be placed into removal proceedings or be removed from the United States for a specified period of time unless terminated. Additionally they will be able to continue their education and obtain a work permit valid for 2 years.
Policy for the future of DACA has not been established or developed but many of our clients have already benefited from this Executive Order of President Barack Obama.
Due to President Obama’s Executive Action taken on November 20, 2014 there has been guidelines set for a DACA Extension. Unfortunately, these applications have been put on hold. Come back to this page for more information.
